3 Life-Changing Truths about Rest for Your Soul

Life-changing? Yes, this is a bold claim. But my soul claims that it is true. My life is dramatically changing because of these truths. THE Truth? Yes, another bold claim. But it is straight from the mouth of Jesus, the One who IS the Way, the TRUTH, and the Life. Does your soul crave true ... View Post

How to Gain Victory in your Homeschool Battle

How to Gain Victory in your Homeschool Battle

Now it came about it a land far away, a long time ago, the sons of Moab and the sons of Ammon, together with some of the Meunites, came to make war against Jehoshaphat, king of Judah. The message was clear: A multitude was invading. Now it also happens that in another land, many years later, ... View Post

3 Hidden Blessings from Homeschooling with Chronic Illness

Another day in the recliner. Another day of haphazard meals. Another day of lesson plans left unchecked. Another day of excessive tv. Another day of constant mental struggle. Do you ever wonder if homeschooling when Mom has a chronic illness is just too much? Do you doubt whether you can really ... View Post

3 Truths God Sees When You Feel Invisible

"There's apparently a secret club." My heart sank as another mom relayed the woes of our young students at co-op. My child was the instigator. Her child was not allowed in the club. Her child was in tears. Mine was oblivious to the broken heart. My friend courageously decided it was best to work ... View Post

One Crucial Choice While Walking Through the Valley

9 May

I'm no stranger to the valley. Maybe it's my circumstances. Perhaps it's just my personality. Probably a combination. This valley is not my first choice of where to be, yet it's strangely familiar.  In the valley, I have danced with depression. I have gracefully grieved. I have survived difficult ... View Post

Equipped and Confident

2 May

Bows slung across their shoulders. Quivers bulged with arrows. The archers of Israel's tribe of Ephraim stood ready for battle. After years of training, the time had come. They were trained. They were equipped. They were skilled. They were ready for battle. Valiantly, they marched forward toward the ... View Post

Homeschooling... Seeking rest in chaos... Persevering through chronic illness... Tenaciously worshiping in trials... Clinging to Jesus through it all.

Instagram post 2174851097116927671_5691386987 It's not too good to be true.

Instagram post 2162588685751989833_5691386987 I want to pray without ceasing. But I don't. Getting myself back in a habit. Trying to train my heart to seek Jesus consistently throughout the day.

Instagram post 2153371392425800298_5691386987 It's all gonna be ok. Take a deep breath. Whisper a prayer. Or cry out to God in desperation.
.
He cares. He loves you. He loves your children.

Instagram post 2145797831620152843_5691386987 Outside should be cooler. Today is October, and we're still sweating it out with nearly 100 degree heat here in Alabama.
.
Maybe if I post a fall picture. . . Nope, our reality is still sweltering.
.
I wonder how many of our frustrations stem from clinging to how we think things *should* be rather than how they actually are.
.
This plan *should* work. This lesson *should* be easier. This child *should* cooperate.
.
Moms, let's accept our reality, as messy as it might be, rather than clinging in frustration to our perfect illusion. Then we can take steps forward toward the perfect plan God has for our families.

Instagram post 2143073719906974157_5691386987 Momma, you don't have to have it all together. Your weakness can be an opportunity to receive a gift.
.
When we admit the truth of our shortcomings, we can give Him access into our lives.
.
When we acknowledge our wrong-doing, we can invite Him to enter our lives and change us.
.
---"The Restful Homeschool Resolution" Day 8---
. “And He has said to me, ‘My grace is sufficient for you, for power is perfected in weakness.’ Most gladly, therefore, I will rather boast about my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may dwell in me.” II Corinthians 12:9
